Frequently Asked Questions

What's the Energy Price Cap?

Ofgem introduced an energy price cap on 1st January 2019 that all energy companies have to follow. It’s there to limit how much companies can charge, making sure everyone gets fair pricing.

The price of your tariff is capped if:

  • You use a prepayment meter
  • You get the Warm Home Discount and/or
  • You're on a variable energy tariff (that's either our Value, Gold or Double Gold tariff)

You can find out more about the price cap on the Ofgem website.
