Frequently Asked Questions

How does the gas weekly recovery rate work?

When you top up the gas meter, it'll check if there's a weekly recovery rate. If there is, this'll be taken from your top up.

The meter will then check to see if you've used any of the emergency credit and that all the daily standing charge is paid up to date. If anything is owing, this'll then be taken from your payment.

After this, everything that remains from the payment will be placed as a credit on your meter.

The diagram below explains how your payment will go towards the charges on your meter:

Make sure you check the meter to see if you owe any money before you top up. This means you'll top up with enough credit to keep the gas supply turned on.
